Project involved the provision of an Ultrasound Scanner with a three-year warranty, training and maintenance included . Ultrasound scanners play an indispensable role in maternal and child health facilities, offering a wide range of benefits across the continuum of care. From prenatal screening and diagnostic imaging to guiding obstetric interventions and supporting neonatal care, ultrasound technology enhances the quality and safety of maternal and child healthcare services. This donation was made in partnership with MAYFAIR INSURANCE our corporate partner.
The presence of an ultrasound scanner in a community with active mothers in various stages of pregnancy has a transformative impact on maternal and child health outcomes. By enabling early detection of complications, monitoring fetal growth and development, guiding obstetric interventions, and facilitating parental bonding, ultrasound technology plays a vital role in ensuring safe and healthy pregnancies for mothers and their babies.
The supplied equipment comes with a one-year warranty with service and parts from the vendor (locally situated in the country). The will be a workshop to train the principal users on the equipment, optimisng its performance and general maintenance techniques. Finally, the Mpigi District Health Office has committed to preventive and corrective maintenance of the equipment post-warranty period.
